Clinical Governance
Robust, nurse-led clinical governance underpins everything we do — so families and professionals can trust every hour of care we deliver.
Safety is a system, not a slogan
Complex care carries real clinical risk. Managing that risk takes more than good intentions — it takes structure. Our clinical governance framework is led by experienced registered nurses and runs through every layer of the organisation, from recruitment to the bedside.
The pillars of our framework
1. Nurse-led clinical oversight
Every package has a named clinical lead — a registered nurse accountable for the care plan, risk assessments, staff competencies and clinical reviews. Our 24/7 on-call system ensures clinical advice and escalation are always available.
2. Training & competency assessment
All staff complete mandatory training plus specialist clinical modules relevant to the people they support — tracheostomy, ventilation, enteral feeding, epilepsy, PBS and more. Competencies are assessed practically, signed off by a registered nurse against each individual’s needs, and reassessed regularly.
3. Safer recruitment
Enhanced DBS checks, full employment history, verified references and right-to-work checks on every member of staff — before they ever deliver care.
4. Audit & continuous improvement
Scheduled audits of care records, medication, spot-check visits and client feedback drive a live quality improvement plan reviewed at senior level.
5. Incident management & duty of candour
Transparent reporting, root-cause analysis and honest communication with families, commissioners and regulators when things don’t go to plan.
6. Safeguarding
All staff trained in safeguarding adults and children, with clear reporting lines and active cooperation with local safeguarding partnerships.
